The Math Option is intended for students who plan to study math in graduate school or use math professionally in business, industry, or government.
The Mathematics Education Option is intended for students who plan to teach math in high school or middle school. The program meets the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Standards for Subject Matter Preparation for high school math teachers.
All CSUDH students must take a series of General Education courses, satisfy the Statutory Requirements, and satisfy the Graduation Writing Assessment Requirement. For information about these things please contact the University Advisement Center http://www4.csudh.edu/uac/
Important: Math Majors should take PHY 130, not PHY 100 to satisfy the Natural Science requirement, and they should take MAT 191 not MAT 105 to satisfy the Quantitative reasoning requirement, in the General Education requirements, Area B.
